Aviation Professional Development and Performance Enhancement
We recognize there are many individuals who are new to aviation and who are unfamiliar with successfully obtaining FAA medical certification. It is common for individuals of all ages, whether just starting out in aviation or seeking recertification, to be confused by FAA requirements. Because many individuals with neurological, neurodevelopmental, and behavioral health histories have difficulty navigating FAA requirements, we offer personalized and group-based formats to assist with this process and improve the likelihood that you will successfully earn your medical certification.
Dr. Green earned his private pilot license in 2020 which allowed him to more fully appreciate the human factors involved in the aviation environment. This combination of experience and expertise makes him particularly well suited to conduct FAA neuropsychological evaluations.
FAA neuropsychological evaluations vary depending on their specific requirements. When pilots and air traffic controllers need neuropsychological assessment for their aviation medical certificate, the FAA will send a letter specifying what is required for the evaluation. If you have received the letter from the FAA, are waiting to receive the letter, or have general questions about the FAA evaluation process please contact Dr. Green to discuss availability, fees, and other logistics.

Treatment Services
Individuals who have anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress, social difficulties, and/or cognitive challenges (e.g., attention, concentration, memory, executive functioning) would benefit from targeted interventions. Unlike providers without aviation expertise, we understand and appreciate the higher standards required for pilots and air traffic controllers. We offer short-term, solution-focused psychological and cognitive interventions tailored to the aviation environment.
Evaluations may include the following:
- Intelligence
- Academic Knowledge and Achievement
- Sensory and Motor Abilities
- Attention, Concentration, and Vigilance
- Mental Processing Speed
- Language Skills
- Visual-Spatial Abilities
- Memory and Learning
- Reasoning and Concept Formation
- Executive Functioning (e.g., planning, problem solving, decision making, organization)
- Independent Living Skills
- Personality Traits
- Social, Emotional, and Behavioral Functioning
- Substance Use and Abuse

Consultation Services
Some individuals need additional guidance to make informed decisions about their aviation goals. We provide confidential discussions regarding your personal situation including review of prior records to clarify the FAA medical certification process. The processes required by the FAA can be particularly challenging for individuals with neurological, neurodevelopmental, and behavioral health histories; especially for those with complex histories including multiple diagnoses. Through helping you understand, prioritize, and organize what is needed to navigate the process, we help maximize the likelihood that you will successfully obtain medical certification.
